Kobe Bryant Drops 21 Points in 18 Minutes in Preseason Game vs. Maccabi Haifa

Just days after being ranked as the 93rd-best player in the NBA by ESPN, Kobe Bryant showed the world he still has something left in the tank.

The Los Angeles Lakers star missed the majority of the past two seasons with injuries (leg and shoulder), so there have been some questions about how long it will take the Black Mamba to get back to his old form. The good news for the Lakers is that the face of the franchise appears to be in midseason form.

Bryant dropped 21 points in just 18 minutes during Sunday’s 126-83 victory over Maccabi Haifa (Israel). As impressive as that ratio is, his shooting numbers made his performance look that much better. The 37-year-old guard went 6-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. He also made 5-of-5 shots from the free-throw line.

Per ESPN.com’s Baxter Holmes, Bryant didn’t feel the need to talk about the “silly” ranking. Instead, he let his game do the talking.
